Loritts has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited Old Dominion University (ODU) and a Master of Science in Education also from ODU. Staying current in the field of research, she attends many training courses, including those offered by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Loritts hopes that by providing an avenue affordable to the average person or small business to patent and trademark ideas, that her company will stimulate innovation in America and raise intellectual property awareness. The mission of Loritts Research, Inc.^TM, is to encourage new ideas and entrepreneurship and to be a catalyst for others to pursue their dreams. This is a legacy Loritts hopes to leave to her son, family, former students and others who desire to pursue their dreams.
